2016 Civic CoupeThe 2016 Honda Civic Coupe release date has finally arrived after much anticipation.  With a new model in showrooms, drivers can pick up the latest Honda has to offer for its popular coupe.

Powertrain Configurations

The 2016 Civic Coupe comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque; the base trim comes with a six-speed manual transmission. With the manual transmission, it receives 26 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway*. With a continuously variable transmission, it achieves 30 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway.*

To pack more of a punch on the road, higher trims have the choice for a 1.5L turbo engine with 174 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. This model has a continuously variable transmission and receives 31 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway.*

New Body Design and Features

The new Civic is buffer from an inward rear glass and a sloping front end. In comparison to the Civic Sedan, the rear has around 5.5 inches less. Curved tail lights and sculpted sides give the Civic coupe an edgy and sporty appearance. The Civic also has LED daytime running lights and rain sensing windshield wipers. Higher trims have heated mirrors.

Interior, Tech, and Safety

There is plenty of room for tall passengers to relax in the backseat with 35.9 inches of legroom and 34.6 inches of headroom. In fact, the new 2016 Honda Civic coupe increased its passenger volume by 8.4 cubic feet more than the previous model.

Models come standard with a rearview camera for reversing, and there are three different views to choose from.

Have a wirelessly charging compatible phone? The Civic Coupe comes with a wireless charger. You can also connect your music or phone to the standard USB ports.

Higher trims come with a live video monitor on the exterior mirrors—it catches better angles than traditional mirrors do for your safety.

For safety, models have dual stage airbags through the cabin, and there is a rollover detection system. Honda LaneWatch comes on the Touring trims, which means you receive Lane Keeping Assistance and Adaptive Cruise Control that has a smart slow speed following system.
