2019 Honda Odyssey vs. 2019 Honda Pilot

The touring experience you’ll enjoy in the Honda Odyssey is every bit as energizing and satisfying as that which you’ll enjoy in the Pilot. What’s more, since both of these models feature the same 3.5-Liter V6 engine, they offer near identical horsepower and fuel economy specs. However, if you spend a lot of time traveling through snow or mud, you may still prefer the Pilot. All-wheel drive is available right from the start in the SUV, but it’s unavailable in the minivan.

Interior

The cabins of the Odyssey and the Pilot have both been designed to provide entertainment for the whole family. Each includes smartphone compatibility features like HondaLink®, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. What’s more, both have the capacity to make your drives around Farmington Hills and Canton more convenient with features like Honda CabinTalk™ and Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation™.

However, there are at least a few differences between the offerings in their cabins:

  • Features like Honda CabinWatch®, an in-cabin monitor that lets you check on rear-seated passengers without disturbing them, is only available with the Odyssey interior.
  • The minivan is also available with a HondaVAC®, a built-in vacuum that makes cleanup a breeze.
  • Where the minivan starts out with seating for seven, the SUV starts out with two rows of split-folding seating, and room for eight. An extra seat is available in the upper-level Odyssey trims.

Safety

Neither the 2019 Honda Odyssey nor the 2019 Honda Pilot will let you down when it comes to vehicle safety. Both vehicles come standard with Vehicle Stability Assist™, Advanced Compatibility Engineering™, and Brake Assist. What’s more, both offer a Blind Spot Monitoring System starting in their EX trim levels.

However, the Pilot does have a few advantages here. For starters, it includes LED Daytime Running Lights and Automatic High-Beam Headlights right from the start. Additionally, while both vehicles offer Honda Sensing® technology features, only the Honda Pilot includes them standard in its baseline trim. Honda Sensing® includes each of the following:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System™
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
